Fast Pace Issue One

Posted in Bicycles on February 27th, 2010 by admin

The first issue of Fast Pace has hit the store.

For a first issue of something Fast Pace has done really well for it self. They scored and issue with Chris Fonseca and includes a bunch of reviews about stuff you are actually interested in and a heads up on up and coming fixed freestyle riders. Among other things.

Really looking forward to what they will have for issue 2!

For now there are still a handful of copies of Issue 1 but they are going fast. Pop in and ask for a copy. There are stickers too, just to prove that you are cool enough to read it!

A Touch of Fame

Yesterday we had the fine pleasure of meeting comedian and actor Robin Williams, who is in town to record for the Happy Feet sequel.

Robin rode down to the store in the afternoon for some shopping, a look around and chat as well. We talked bikes, bike lanes, and he revealed he has 70 bikes!! We can definitely say Robin is a genuine and down-to-earth, nice guy!

While he was here he snapped up some Rapha gear and Alan Myerson jewellery.

A Case of Split Personality

Posted in Bicycles on February 3rd, 2010 by admin

Benny Gold is at it again!

After designing the Cinelli x Mash frameset, Benny has now teamed up with everybody’s favourite home-grown wheel manufacturers Velocity to release a limited edition two-tone wheelset. Theres only 200 sets of these – and one could be yours.

The wheels are split – one side black, one side gold. And not that tacky gold you often get. This is matte and a little bit more subtle. Quite classy actually.

They would go really nicely on a Cinelli Mash if you wanted to go for an “all Gold” build, or would be the perfect addition to your favourite ride. They are definitely a head turner.

Sold as a set only, and we’ve only one. So don’t sit on it.

Harden Up!

Posted in Bicycles on February 1st, 2010 by admin

Introducing Continental’s new tough-as-nails tyre; the Gator Hardshell.

The new tyre offers a triple ply casing on top of Continental’s tried and tested DuraSkin protection layer. What sets the Hardshell apart from other tyres is the way carcass is folded. The triple ply runs all the way from bead-to-bead! Offering awesome protection from punctures even on the sidewall.

The Hardshell also retains the long-hard wearing rubber compound from the UltraGators, that all up makes for a great tyre for any ride, whether you are training, or commuting. And if you want to run it as a “skid tyre” for the back of your fixie: yes, the Conti’s are one of the longest wearing tyres you could run.
